We have been really impressed with the quality and creativity of the submissions to Apps For Africa!
The jury has now narrowed down the list of top contenders who are up for the winning prize in the Apps for Africa competition.

The short-listed teams are (in no particular order):
East
-MedAfrica
-afrosilicon
-Komunity Bora

Central
-SenMobile
-Dunde
-Thinkers

1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will be awarded from East and Central Africa only*. It has been a very close competition amongst those who have participated and the jury needs more time to select the winners. Because of this, the announcement of the winners will be delayed until March 7^th.

Now that the mini-challenges (Stages 1 & 2) are behind us, it’s time to get ready for some big time coding! With a deadline of February 28th, our focus now turns to the main competition. New participants and participants from Stages 1 and 2 as well as from the Africa competitions are welcome to join.

There is still plenty of time to join the Apps For Africa competitions. You have until January 31^st.

All you have to do is submit:

1. A fully functioning application
2. A video which demonstrates your application (*)

We’re thrilled to announce the winners of Technology For Good Apps Competition (Stage 2) of the Ericsson Application Awards.

We have received a number of really good contributions for Stage 2 of the competition.
With the evaluation process now complete, we are able to reveal the winners sooner than anticipated. Keep an eye out for the announcement on Monday, December 12^th.

Stage 2 of the competition is now closed. We have received a lot of innovative ideas. The evaluation process has already begun and we will be announcing the winning team on December 16.

This week we caught up with the guys at HipSnip, 2011 winners of the EAA in the company category. It sounds like things are really moving forward for them.

Now that the Stage 1 winners have been announced and we’ve had a chance to catch our breath, it’s time to embark on the second stage of the competition. You have until December 5th.
