RULES
The following are the rules for participating in Ericsson Application Awards.
§1 General
§1.1 Ericsson Application Awards (EAA) reserves the right to decide whether an entry may compete or not.
§1.2 All content created and submitted by the competing teams must be in English.
§1.3 It is recommended that the registered teams have enterprise support early in the competition, but no enterprise representative may be team member or involved in the development of the application.
An entry that violates this rule will be disqualified.
Clarification 1: Support can be in the form of an SME as discussion partner for example about the viability of commercialization of the application
Clarification 2: The purpose of the rule is to keep the competition student-oriented and prohibit professional developers from established companies from competing
§1.4 The entry (submitted application) must not have been published.
§1.5 A working prototype and a description must be submitted by each team in the first round of the contest.
Tip from the jury: Since the winning apps in the first round will tested by a test community (beta test) both ease of use and GUI will be important.
§1.6 A competing team owns all the rights to its entry. However, EAA reserves the right to use the application for demonstration and testing and other purposes specified below in the Terms&Conditions, section Intellectual Property Rights.
§1.7 Award nominees and winners are selected by the competition’s jury, and its decision cannot be appealed.
§2 Technology
§2.1 Entries are preferably run on the following platforms: Java ME, Android and Browser based platforms
§2.2 Entries must address at least one of the categories related to the theme "Everyday life: Sustainable, Social and Fun".
§2.3 Entries must have at least one Ericsson Labs enabler as part of the application. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee that Ericsson Labs enablers and APIs work in all countries and that may limit the ability to participate.
§3 Participants
§3.1 EAA is open to students (student teams) all having reached legal age of majority.
§3.2 The team must consist of 2-4 students
§3.3 Employees of any company within the Ericsson Group cannot participate.
§3.4 Those persons registered as participants of a team at the last date of submission of application will be deemed to be the submitting team. It is the responsibility of the team leader to ensure that the registration is accurate and Ericsson will not take any actions to correct any faults nor receive any complaints of any person that claims to wrongfully have been removed from or added to a team.
