This week we caught up with the guys at HipSnip, 2011 winners of the EAA in the company category. It sounds like things are really moving forward for them.
They tell us that their sites – for mobile and desktop – are now live, so any smartphone user can use HipSnip, an app where people can get shopping advice and recommendations. Not only that, but based on some early feedback and things they’ve learned since the first version they released for the Ericsson Application Awards, they are now in the process of making a version 2 that will be available in December.

The HipSnip app is dependent on both users and shopping advisers and retailers. Phil Woodward, co-founder of HipSnip tells us their user base is growing and they’re starting to get a decent volume of shopping questions each day. He explains, “We’ve been actively building up our network of shopping advisers and retailers, so people can get great quality shopping advice. This is a key part of the business, and one we’ll be ramping up in the months ahead.”
Since the 2011 EAA, HipSnip has had some really encouraging meetings with big name UK retailers and are hoping to make some exciting announcements in the coming months.
