Vasaloppet Team Challenge

What will Vasaloppet look like in the Networked Society?

Do you have a suggestion for how mobile technology and different sensors can enhance and extend your experience at Vasaloppet? Maybe a mobile application that makes it easier to wax your skiis? Maybe a mobile application that combines competition and wellness?

As part of the Ericsson Application Awards Vasaloppet Team Challenge, teams are asked to submit a video that shows how their idea for an app solves a specific problem or opportunity for Vasaloppet fans and skiers.

You have until February 7, 2012 to submit your idea.

What you have to do:
If you already have a team you can skip step 1 and step 2.
1. Register a user account. (One per team member)
2. Register your team (Click "Team sign-up" and fill out the form).
Please note: the team will be available after approval.
3. Submit a video, no longer than 3 minutes, that will do two things:
- Present a problem or an opportunity
- Present a use-case that shows how your app addresses the problem or opportunity
To do this, click "Create Project Submission" under "My Team" in the menu. Fill out the form and upload your video. Accepted formats for your video are: AVI, QT, WMV or H.264, MPEG-2, MPEG-4.
Note 1: Submissions must be in English.
Note 2: For those of you who want to see an example of the kind of video we are looking for, click on this video from one of last year's competitors.

Who can Join the Competition
The competition is open to both student developers and those who work in small- & medium-sized enterprises (under 100 employees) .

Prize:
1st place: Sony Ericsson Xperia Active
2nd place: Sony Ericsson Xperia X8
3rd place: Sony Ericsson Live View devices
Winners will be announced on the EAA website on February 21, 2012.

Jury
The jury consists of representatives from Ericsson and Vasaloppet.
